چکیده

This paper introduces a receding horizon control scheme for obtaining near-optimal controls in a feedback form for an aircraft trying to avoid a closing air-to-air missile. The vehicles are modeled as point masses. Rotation kinematics of the aircraft are taken into account by limiting the pitch and roll rates as well as the angular accelerations of the angle of attack and the bank angle. The missile uses proportional navigation and it has a boostsustain propulsion system. In the proposed scheme, the optimal controls of the aircraft over a short planning horizon are solved online by the direct shootingmethod at each decision instant. Thereafter, the state of the system is updated by using only the first controls in the sequence, and the process is repeated. The performance measure defining the objective of the aircraft can be chosen freely. In this paper, six performance measures consisting of the capture time, closing velocity, miss distance, gimbal angle, tracking rate, and control effort of the missile are considered. The quality of the receding horizon solutions computed by the scheme is validated by comparing them to the off-line computed optimal open-loop solutions.

An adaptive controller for the avoidance of an air combat missile utilizing a guidance law unknown to the target is introduced. The controls of the aircraft are determined at discrete instants using a receding horizon control scheme providing near-optimal feedback controls of the aircraft against a closing missile. The controls are optimized with respect to the expected final distance between t...

Receding Horizon Based Control of Disturbed Upright Balance with Consideration of Foot Tilting(RESEARCH NOTE)

In some situations, when an external disturbance occurs, humans can rock stably backward and forward by lifting the toe or the heel to keep the upright balance without stepping. Many control schemes have been proposed for standing balance control under external disturbances without stepping. But, in most of them researchers have only considered a flat foot phase. In this paper a framework is pr...

Vision-Based Receding Horizon Control for Micro Air Vehicles in Urban Environments

This paper presents a vision-based receding horizon control algorithm for enabling a micro air vehicle to fly autonomously through an unknown urban environment. A vision-based geometry estimation algorithm is used to generate a map of the environment and provide obstacle avoidance constraints on permissible MAV trajectories. The geometry estimation process is comprised of three components: a fe...
